Yellowknifer. December 2, 2016. p 9.
Hello YKCC Members!
Annual General Meeting
Date: Wednesday, November 30th
When: 6 PM
Where: Library Meeting Room
Eats: Free pizza
The AGM is where we elect board members for the upcoming year, vote on club policy, and decide the club’s direction for the upcoming year. We’ll also be discussing progress on the new climbing wall at the Fieldhouse, and how you can help make it a reality.
It’s important that all members who are able come to the meeting, but we have a proxy form below if you can’t make it. But if you don’t make it, you don’t get pizza…
Did we mention that there will be free pizza?
See you there!
Two important events are coming up:
YKCC Annual General Meeting
Yellowknife Public Library meeting room
City of Yellowknife Budget Deliberations
More details to come later this week for both events, but mark your calendars now.
Thank you to the NWT Recreation & Parks Association for supporting this event!
We will be trying out some new weekend hours at the gym. The gym will now be opened 10 AM-12 PM every 2nd Saturday, beginning this weekend.
Please check the schedule to confirm the gym will be opened as we adjust to these new hours. Thanks!

And now for some good news: YKCC President Eric Binion presented our new wall proposal to the Yellowknife Municipal Services Committee (MSC) on Monday. The presentation was successful and inclusion of our proposal into the city budget will be voted on by Council on September 26. Way to go Eric! Way to go MSC!
Our mystery route setter is… Dustin Curtis!
Dustin is the head route setter for the Calgary Climbing Centre, and was formerly the head route setter for The Hive in Vancouver. His accomplishments during 15 years of route setting include:
As a climber, Dustin has competed for the Canadian National Climbing Team at 8 Boulder World Cups. Needless to say, the YKCC is proud to welcome Dustin as our route setter for this year’s competition.
