Hello YKCC Members!
Annual General Meeting & Special Meeting
Date: Wednesday, December 2nd
When: 6 PM
Where: Library Meeting Room
The AGM is where we elect board members for the upcoming year, vote on club policy, and decide the club’s direction for the upcoming year.
The Special Meeting will cover the draft YKCC proposal to the City of Yellowknife with regard to building a larger climbing facility in Yellowknife. It is crucial that members provide input for this process.
It’s very important that all members come to the meeting, or provide proxy to a member who can. If we don’t meet quorum for the meeting, we can’t legally change the club’s rules and we’ll be less effective at growing the club in the upcoming year.
See you there!

President Susan and Vice President Eric gave awards to all of our hardworking volunteers during Volunteer Appreciation Night. Notable winners were Celia and Landen (most volunteer shifts) and Laura, Tyler, and JD (2 years of service).
To all of our volunteers, the YKCC would like to say that we couldn’t do this without you. Huzzah!
The Yellowknife Climbing Club is launching its Youth Training Program this autumn. The program will focus on having fun while exploring the fundamentals of climbing movement, athleticism, risk management, problem solving, and achieving the goals set by each climber.
No prior climbing experience is necessary.

First Session: October 5th
Last Session: December 7th

If you’ve been climbing at the gym recently, you probably noticed that we’re going digital. We have a dedicated laptop that allows us to back up our files and logs every night, plus we can stream music to keep the gym bumpin’ while we climb.
The YKCC would like to say a big thank you to SSI Micro donating the internet connection that makes it all possible. We’ve now got a sign to make that official. Thanks!
The YKCC would like to thank our sponsors for the Midnight Sun Climbing Competition. We couldn’t put on this event – or continue to grow the sport of climbing in Yellowknife – without the support of these organizations.

YKCC had a busy night of cleaning on Thursday as part of the City of Yellowknife’s Spring Clean Up. Olexin Park has never looked so good.
Thank you to all of the volunteers who came out to clean and rocked your YKCC shirts!
Welcome to the information hub for YKCC’s 2015 climbing competition. All information posted about the competition will be linked here, so look no further than the comprehensive list below.
Congratulations to our Air North raffle winner Jeddy Kehler, who has won a trip for two to Whitehorse.
Jeddy had an excellent morning of climbing in the youth competition, and can be seen on the right, bouncing up a storm while his father Monte accepts the prize from our president Susan.
Many thanks to Air North for providing our grand prize for the second year in a row.
Enjoy your trip, Jeddy!
