Local climber, Hugo cleaned and established a vertical 5.11- crack on nice solid rock. Adjacent to the crack at Cameron Falls the rock gets quite steep and is of high quality. Nothing has been bolted in that area but there is potential for at least four or five new routes to be established. From some squinty-eyed inspections from the ground, the holds look small enough on a steep enough angle that it’s likely they would be in the 5.12 to 5.12+ range. It is probably 15-18 metres in height.
Directions by car: Cameron Falls Trail is located within Hidden Lake Territorial Park, on the Ingraham Trail. It is approximately 47 km east of Yellowknife. There is a small parking lot with pit toilet facilities, at the start of a 20 minute hike along a well marked trail to Cameron Falls. The hike is a moderate adventure with some elevation gain over rocks before arriving at a lookout overlooking a 17 metre waterfall. The trail is very well marked and well maintained.
